Alerts and Important Information
Landsford Canal's buisiest season is around the peak bloom of the rare Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies, which occurs from around the second weekend in May to around the middle of June. 20 acres of this plant bloom at once, covering the river in a blanket of white. The viewing area is a 3/4-mile walk (one-way) down the historic canal trail. This is a day-use park. Park hours are 9AM - 6PM year-round. The park must be vacated by 6PM. Office hours are 11 AM to noon. Canoeing / kayaking is very popular during April to September. This section of river is class 1-2, it is moving water with many rocks and some small rapids. First-time boaters should check in with a ranger or call ahead for boating information. Water levels are dam-controlled and can change rapidly.
