Firewood Alert: Because of the seriousness of a potential infestation from the Emerald Ash Borer, we are requesting that no firewood be brought into South Carolina State Parks from outside of the state.

The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a destructive invasive exotic beetle that feeds on ash trees. Park campgrounds and picnic areas are the most likely areas for EAB introduction into South Carolina. We appreciate your help in protecting the natural resources of South Carolina and our State Park System.

Located in South Carolina's piedmont region, Chester State Park is a quiet 523-acre park which provides a tranquil setting for local residents. Park facilities and activities include camping, primitive group camping, picnic area with shelters, playground equipment, fishing lake, rental boats, rental meeting house, archery range, and hiking trail.

All persons staying in the campground must be registered. Check-in time is 2:00 pm until. Check-out time is 12:00 pm. No one under 18 years of age can reserve a site or register for a site. Occupancy is limited to 6 persons per site. All pets must remain on leash. Park hours are from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Daylight savings Time (daily) and 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Standard Time (daily). Please contact the park to reserve ADA (Disabled Access) Standard and Full Service sites.
